Role Scope :
The PCA Supervisor leads and directly oversees the Personal Care Attendant team at the PACE center, ensuring participants receive safe, dignified, high-quality assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs). This role is responsible for day-to-day team supervision, training and competency oversight, and regulatory compliance for direct participant care staff, working in close partnership with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT), nursing leadership, and the Center Director.
Core Responsibilities & Expectations for the Role
- Supervise, schedule, and coordinate daily assignments for the PCA team to ensure adequate participant coverage at the day center, including meal service and daily activities and for external medical appointments.
- Serve as the first point of escalation for PCA staff questions, participant concerns, and day-to-day operational issues.
- Ensures PCA-maintained logs are documented timely and accurately in accordance with facility processes.
- Manage and oversee participant incontinence supply delivery process and monitor day center inventory stock.
- Ensures timely completion of all PCA staff documentation, including ADL support (toileting, bathing), progress notes, grievances and SDR’s aligned with regulatory timeline requirements.
- Conduct regular check‑ins, team huddles, and one-on‑ones to support staff performance and morale.
- Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and corrective action for PCA staff as needed.
- Coordinate ongoing (not just initial) competency evaluations.
- Monitor the quality and consistency of ADL support delivered by the PCA team against each participant’s individualized care plan.
- Communicate participant status changes, incidents, or care plan concerns to the IDT and nursing leadership in a timely manner.
- Support the IDT in adjusting care plans based on PCA observations of participant needs.
- Support the team of PCAs in delivering daily care, as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from accredited program.
- Associates degree or at least 2 years of experience in a supervisory, lead, or preceptor role.
- Active Food Handlers Certification
- Demonstrated knowledge of ADL support, infection control, and safe patient handling
- Strong communication skills; ability to interface with IDT, nursing, families, and participants.
- Experience overseeing daily workflows and supporting team performance through coaching and feedback.
- Ability to make routine operational decisions, solve problems in real time, and maintain quality standards.
- Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, prioritize work, and keep operations running smoothly.
