Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in West Des Moines, Iowa. This role involves managing key financial processes, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and supporting the organization's accounting operations. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in accounting practices and an eye for detail.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee month-end closing processes, ensuring all financial data is accurately recorded and reported.

- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial records.

- Prepare and post journal entries, supporting the organization's accounting activities.

- Perform account reconciliations to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.

- Conduct bank reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are accounted for and properly recorded.

- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.

- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information and support organizational goals.

- Assist in preparing financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders.

- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations in all financial activities.

- Provide recommendations to improve accounting processes and increase efficiency. Requirements - Proven experience in month-end close and financial reporting processes.

- Expertise in general ledger maintenance and reconciliation.

- Proficiency in preparing journal entries with attention to detail and accuracy.

- Strong skills in account and bank reconciliations.

- Solid understanding of accounting principles and best practices.

- Ability to analyze financial data and interpret results effectively.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
