Job Description
The Accounts Payable Associate plays a crucial role in processing accounts payable invoices, coordinating vendor payments, and reconciling related general ledger accounts monthly. This position provides valuable support to professional staff within organizational functions, aligning with their field of study and contributing to ongoing projects. The role offers hands‑on experience in a structured, professional environment.
Job TitleAccounts Payable Associate
Responsibilities- Organize, analyze, and process all accounts payable invoices.
- Maintain vendor records and assist with annual 1099 processing.
- Prepare general ledger account reconciliations and perform research on accounts payable invoices and payments.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports where appropriate and post miscellaneous journal entries as needed.
- Perform other related work as assigned.
- Experience in accounts payable.
- Proficiency in invoice processing, purchase orders, and general ledger accounting.
- Strong skills in invoicing, reconciliation, and data entry.
Skills & Qualifications
- 1+ years of accounts payable experience.
- Associate's degree in accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior experience with purchase orders and general ledger accounting is preferred.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Des Moines, IA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.04 – $28.85/hr.
