Arona Home Essentials is seeking a Full Time, Accounting Clerk for its home office located in West Des Moines, Iowa. This position reports to the Director of Accounting. Arona thrives in a high-growth, fast-paced, can-do environment. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Clerk to join our accounting team.

The Accounting Clerk will play a key role in supporting our daily financial operations. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, accurate, and eager to grow in the field of accounting.

Responsibilities:

  • Posts journal entries to general ledger at month-end.
  • Process NSF checks and maintain all records pertaining to NSF checks.
  • Process Credit Card chargebacks and send to store to collect payment from the customer.
  • Complete daily banking spreadsheet by entering corresponding amounts from Point-of-Sale System (POS) and comparing to the bank account to find variances.
  • Communicate with store managers about banking discrepancies.
  • Enter ACH payments made against the corresponding open invoices in Business Works.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.
  • Data entry and management of accounting system.
  • Support audits and ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • Perform general administrative duties related to finance.
  • Complete special projects and audits as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in accounting or two (2) years of accounting experience
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving, data solving and typing skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software Business Central a plus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and time-management skills
