Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented staff accountant to support core accounting operations for a real estate and property organization in West Des Moines, Iowa. This position focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with period-end activities, and helping ensure reporting is completed in a timely manner. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in property management accounting and can work effectively across multiple responsibilities in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and record journal entries with strong attention to accuracy and supporting documentation.
• Maintain general ledger activity and review account balances to help ensure financial records remain complete and reliable.
• Assist with month-end close tasks, including reconciliations, variance review, and timely completion of assigned deliverables.
• Support accounting processes related to property management operations, including tracking financial activity across assigned properties.
• Reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues efficiently.
• Help compile financial statements and internal reports for management review and operational decision-making.
• Partner with internal teams to gather accounting information, answer questions, and improve day-to-day financial accuracy.
