Experience needed
Strong business systems analysis experience within accounting, finance or insurance, with knowledge of financial systems, accounting processes and data reconciliation. Experience with ERP platforms, SQL and insurance accounting would be particularly valuable.
About the RoleWe’re looking for a Senior Accounting Business Systems Analyst to help improve the financial systems and processes supporting a large insurance organisation.
You’ll work between Accounting, Finance, Insurance Operations and Technology teams to gather requirements, improve processes and ensure financial platforms meet business, reporting and regulatory needs.
Key Responsibilities- Gather and translate accounting requirements into system designs and user stories
- Analyse financial and insurance processes across billing, claims, commissions and reinsurance
- Support the implementation and improvement of ERP and insurance platforms
- Design and validate integrations between operational systems and the general ledger
- Create test plans and coordinate system, integration and user acceptance testing
- Ensure financial data is accurate and reconciled across sub-ledgers and the general ledger
- Support regulatory reporting, internal controls, audits and process documentation
- Strong experience as a Business Systems Analyst within accounting, finance or insurance
- Good knowledge of general ledgers, sub-ledgers, reconciliations and month-end close
- Understanding of insurance processes such as premiums, claims, reserves or reinsurance
- Experience with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle or Net Suite
- Strong SQL, Excel and data analysis skills
- Experience with system integrations, testing and UAT coordination
- Knowledge of GAAP, statutory accounting, SOX or insurance regulations would be beneficial
- Strong stakeholder management, documentation and problem-solving skills
