Construction Project Engineer

Palmer Group has partnered with our client in their search for a Construction Project Engineer to join their team! This position supports the planning and execution of development-driven construction projects from early design through completion. This role partners closely with internal development leaders, design professionals, and subcontractors to help deliver projects that meet schedule, budget, quality, and compliance expectations. It blends hands-on coordination with technical review, offering exposure to both project engineering and project management responsibilities across a diverse commercial portfolio.

What You Will Do:

• Support projects from preconstruction through closeout, aligning scope, cost, and schedule
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
• Review drawings, specifications, and contracts for accuracy and constructability
• Track project progress, identify risks, and help drive the timely resolution of issues
• Assist with budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and cost tracking
• Participate in bidding processes, scope reviews, and contractor selection
• Conduct periodic site visits to monitor work and ensure adherence to plans
• Help enforce compliance with building codes, safety standards, and regulations
• Prepare and deliver project updates for leadership and stakeholders
• Contribute to problem-solving efforts with practical, field-informed solutions

What You Will Need to Be Successful:

• Bachelor's degree in construction engineering, civil engineering, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in construction project management or project engineering
• Exposure to commercial projects preferred; industrial or residential considered
• Working knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulatory requirements
• Ability to interpret technical documents, drawings, and specifications
• Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Proficiency with construction management tools and Microsoft Office
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus
