A Hope Wedding Coordinator handles the details and timeline of the ceremony at Lutheran Church of Hope, supporting a smooth, meaningful, and Christ-centered wedding experience.
Responsibilities- Serve as the primary point of contact for the rehearsal and day-of ceremony
- Coordinate ceremony logistics in alignment with the church’s values, policies, and worship practices
- Create and manage the ceremony timeline, including rehearsal
- Communicate with Hope pastors, musicians, and staff to ensure alignment
- Lead and facilitate the wedding rehearsal
- Oversee setup and teardown of ceremony spaces as permitted by the church
- Coordinate the wedding party processional and recessional
- Ensure the ceremony begins and ends on time
- Provide calm guidance and support to the wedding couple, their families, and the wedding party
- Address day-of questions or issues so the couple can remain present
- Strives to live a Christ-centered life, rooted in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Clear, warm, and professional communication
- Ability to lead groups calmly and confidently
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to anticipate needs
- Problem-solving skills and flexibility
- Ability to balance hospitality with enforcement of church policies
- Works well with others, maintaining positive and effective relationships with church staff, ministries, volunteers, church members, and guests
- Demonstrates honesty and integrity, respects confidentiality and Hope policies
- Works independently with confidence, showing initiative and the ability to function without close supervision
- Commitment to representing Lutheran Church of Hope, its staff, and its mission in the best possible light
- Previous experience coordinating weddings or events (church or secular setting)
- Experience working within a church or ministry environment
- Demonstrated experience managing timelines and logistics for live events
- Schedule: Weekend hours only, typically an hour on Friday night and four hours on Saturday
- Supervisor: Director of Weddings
- Pay and Benefits: Commensurate with position; based on national wage surveys of comparable churches
