- Mandatory Reporters of Child Certificate. Taken through the Department of Human Services or Heartland AEA.
- Right to Know Certificate (Hazardous Chemicals in the Workplace). Taken through Heartland AEA, no charge with our district password.
- Copy of official transcript
- Online background form that will be emailed to you
2026/27 School year pay:
Substitute Teacher $150/day, Minimum $75/day. Daily, after 15 total days in one school year $170/day, $85/half day.
Extended (16+ consecutive days in same assignment, retroactive to day
1):
Tier 3:
Sub Authorization of Sub License
Tier 2:
Has or held an Iowa teaching license
Tier 1:
Has or held the correct Iowa endorsement for the assignment
$200 full day
$250 full day
$275 full day
More than a full semester in the same assignment will include fringe benefits:
- Plan B employee only coverage
- 5 paid sick days
- 3 paid days leave for death in immediate family
- 3 paid days leave for critical illness in immediate family
