POSITION OVERVIEW:
As a Girls on the Run (GOTR) Program Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to assist with developing, delivering and administering a quality GOTR program for our community. You will oversee aspects of GOTR programming such as volunteer and site management, 5k coordination and administrative support.
JOB LOCATION:Various sites throughout Central Iowa, home base is Walnut Creek YMCA
HOURS/DAYSSCHEDULE:
20 hours a week;
Monday-Friday 1p-6p and occasional weekends
- Ability to read, write, perform simple mathematical functions.
- Demonstrated computer skills in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office environment
- Completion of high school or equivalent
- Two years previous work experience in program coordination or management, preferably related to youth programs.
- Minimum of 1 year of supervision experience and/or team leadership
- Current Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED Certification OR equivalent – prior to starting if hired.
- Child Abuse Prevention Training - prior to starting if hired and maintained annually.
- Additional training to be completed within the first 30 days and maintained afterwards.
- Create, plan and deliver program opportunities for the assigned GOTR program sites.
- Develop and implement promotion plan to advertise program opportunities for assigned GOTR program sites.
- Manage and coordinate all program activities for assigned GOTR program sites.
- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate volunteer coaches and site liaisons.
- Prepare reports and rosters using computer information.
- Develop and implement evaluation plan to determine impact of program opportunities.
- Know emergency procedures and be able to demonstrate them to others.
- Respond to questions and concerns of program participants and families.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or designated staff person.
