Integrated Systems - Design Engineer

Job Summary

Kidwell is seeking a highly motivated individual with strong knowledge of design engineering to join our growing Integrated Systems Engineering team. The Integrated Systems Design Engineer will work directly with various teams at Kidwell to generate engineering designs for customers and help implement them for customers. Strong candidates will be doers who have a passion for getting projects to the finish line in the most effective way possible.

• Design electronic access control, video surveillance systems and communication systems for a wide array of Kidwell customers.
• Complete preliminary designs of systems.
• Review designs for accuracy and solve any issues found.
• Walk various job sites to gather accurate information for designs.
• Collaborate with sales staff and owners to provide viable solutions for both the customer and Kidwell.
• Work with Virtual Construction Team for providing construction documents.
• Assist project managers and job foreman to ensure the correct design is implemented for customers.

• 4 years of experience with commercial audio‑visual system installation, or design at minimum.
• 4 years of experience with electronic access control, surveillance camera installation or design preferred.
• 4 years of experience with commercial intercom or paging systems preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD or MS Visio.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, along with a positive attitude and self‑motivation is required.
• An ability to effectively communicate with various levels of leadership, both internally and externally is required.
