Civil Design Engineer

We are seeking a Civil Design Engineer to support the planning, design, and development of a variety of civil engineering projects. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing construction plan sets, performing site design and stormwater management tasks, and creating detailed project designs using Civil 3D. You will collaborate with clients, participate in project meetings, and assist with construction administration activities, including site observations and inspections.

Projects may include commercial and residential developments, athletic facility improvements, and other site development initiatives.

• Develop and prepare comprehensive plan sets, including drafting, site design, and stormwater management components.
• Participate in client meetings to discuss project objectives, progress, and technical requirements.
• Create project designs and construction documentation utilizing Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
• Coordinate and support construction site inspections, observations, and project-related field activities.
• Contribute to the design and development of commercial and residential site projects, athletic facilities, and other civil engineering assignments.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project success and timely delivery.

• Proficiency with Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
• Strong foundation in civil engineering design principles and best practices.
• Experience managing project tasks, schedules, and deliverables.
• Knowledge of land development, site development, stormwater management, and commercial design projects.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or the ability and desire to obtain certification.
• 1 to 4 years of civil engineering consulting experience.
• Strong interest in career progression toward a Project Manager role within the next 3 to 5 years.
• Ability to effectively coordinate with multiple engineering disciplines and project teams.
• 3+ years of experience using AutoCAD and Civil 3D (including relevant academic experience).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Des Moines, IA.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $90000.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
