Job Overview
Seeking experienced Labor & Delivery RNs for a high-volume mother/baby unit within a multi-campus health system. This position requires strong Labor & Delivery and mother-baby experience, prior travel completion within the past year, and the ability to float across campuses as needed.

Schedule- 3x12 Night Shifts
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 36 hours per week
- Every 3rd weekend (including holiday rotation if scheduled)
- No call required
- 13-week contract
- Possible 48-hour contracts available
- Orientation: 16 hours
Firm start dates:
- 3/16
- 3/30
- 24-bed unit
- 2 Operating Rooms
- Patient ratio: 1:3–4 couplets
- EPIC charting
- Hospital-provided scrubs
- Drips:
Magnesium, Insulin, Pitocin - Patient population: C-sections, vaginal deliveries, OB triage
Traveler will float across campuses as needed (Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran).
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive Labor & Delivery care
- Manage vaginal and C-section deliveries
- Provide mother-baby couplet care
- Perform OB triage assessments
- Administer magnesium, insulin, and pitocin infusions
- Circulate in C-sections
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary OB team
- Active Iowa or Compact RN license (in hand at submission)
- Minimum 2 years Labor & Delivery experience
- Mother-baby care experience required
- C-section and vaginal delivery experience required
- OB triage experience required
- Must have completed at least one travel assignment within the past 12 months
- BLS (AHA or ARC)
- ACLS (AHA)
- NRP
- AWHONN (required)
- Driver’s License (required at submission)
Local Radius:
- 50 miles (rate adjustment applies for local candidates)
Additional System Rules:
- Maximum 7 RTO days per 13 weeks
- No guarantee of block scheduling
- COVID and Flu vaccine required
- EPIC assessment required
