General Function: We are looking for candidates experienced in retail recruiting, working in a fast paced environment with a high volume of recruiting. The ideal candidate is driven by success, self-motivated, competitive yet team oriented! We are looking for recruiters who exhibit high energy and are excited about recruiting. This person will hire candidates for all positions within Hy‑Vee. Facilitates effective techniques and procedures to ensure full employment.
Initiates and assists in recruiting for new stores and new markets.

Accountable and reports to:
Director of Recruiting. Positions that report to you:
None.
- Works with Director of Recruiting to determine current and future employment needs for training programs, existing stores, as well as new stores
- Involved in all phases of the recruiting process, including interviewing and hiring as needed
- Attends career and job fairs, both professional and college level. Participates in informal career fairs at colleges, universities, high schools, and community organizations
- Develops and maintains contact with high schools, colleges, universities, churches, career counselors, deans, department heads, and military
- Establishes contacts and develops relationships with diverse organizations
- Recruits from other businesses
- Develops and reviews recruitment materials i.e. direct mail pieces, flyers, brochures
- Develops and reviews marketing materials for new stores and new markets
- Organizes advertising efforts for new stores and new markets, including but not limited to Chamber of Commerce, Facebook, job boards, newspaper, radio, and other forms of advertising
- Works with stores to determine hiring needs and assist them in the recruiting process
- Communicates to store directors and Human Resources managers regarding interviews, background, and prescreening on all candidates
- Responds to internal/external inquiries regarding opportunities within the new store/market
- Collaborates with the Store Director and HR Supervisor in regards to facilitating mass hire events
- Coordinates and assists employee development team regarding internship programs with colleges who offer specialized training, i.e. management, culinary arts, food service, and floral design for the local market
- Communicates opportunities to trainees who have completed department training programs, with the goal of full employment
- Achieves goals set by Director of Recruiting including number of candidates hired and placed
- Reports to work when scheduled and works expected number of hours
- Works in conjunction with our Human Resources and Training and Education teams to develop and coordinate the annual Hy‑Vee Career Day and other activities.
- Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required

- Ability to identify problems, develop and execute solutions
- Ability to interact with basic computer systems, including word processing, spreadsheet and email applications, as well as job‑specific programs
- Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
High school diploma or equivalent required; 3-5 years related retail management, recruiting, hiring experience necessary.
Physical Requirements- Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction
- Must be physically able to perform sedentary work: occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 10 pounds, and occasionally standing or walking
- Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions
The duties of this position are performed in multiple settings. Frequent travel is mandatory with overnight hotel stays. There is also pressure to meet weekly deadlines.
