Base pay range

$40.00/hr - $45.00/hr

We have a 12 month contract to hire for an Application Development Engineer I. Must have 3-5 years of experience in a data engineering field, Oracle SQL/PLSQL, Python/Unix Shell Scripting and ETL experience. 100% Remote.


  • Must Haves:
    3-5 years of experience in data engineering or a related field

  • Python/Unix Shell Scripting
  • ETL
  • Relevant certifications in data engineering, cloud platforms (such as AWS or Azure), and specific technologies (like SQL, Python, and ETL tools) are highly recommended

Responsibilities:

  • Day to Day Responsibilities:

    Responsible for building highly stable and scalable data transformations. Source data from one primary system Amisys Oracle but source in a few different ways like direct connections and SOA APIs. Understanding Adjudication systems, and management of data transfers to and from external claim editing vendors
  • A significant part of the day involves monitoring and optimizing API connections and SQL queries. Explore tools to proactively catch performance issues in either stream or batch workflows and ensure that flows and queries run efficiently in both test and production environments with a focus of shifting left
  • Frequently collaborate with other team members and business partners. Contribute in weekly meetings to review system performance, discuss ongoing
  • Work with a variety of technologies, including Python, SQL, Kafka, Kubernetes, Oracle Scripting, ... Involved in enhancing design to ensure stability and scalability
  • Involved in project management tasks, such as documenting design changes and integration points, and ensuring that all necessary information is available for team members in a common location. They might work on designing robust ETL and reporting solutions or moving from batch to streaming
  • The FWA team values continuous improvement, so it is encouraged to upskill in areas like data engineering, AI, and cloud technologies. They might participate in training sessions or collaborate with other teams to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Additionally:

    Backend development for Vended system policy updates (edits and exclusions)
  • Completing backend development for self service capabilities for Vended systems
  • Completing any backend changes to support claim status visibility in Splunk
  • Completing any system enhancements to continue to stabilize our batch processes
  • Rolling out new end to end data flow enhancements

  • The Fraud, Waste, and Abuse (FWA) team is dedicated to ensuring the accurate payment of claims, which directly impacts both members and providers. The team's mission is to create positive outcomes by preventing and recovering improper payments. Here are some key aspects of the FWA team's purpose:Accurate Payment of Claims:
    The FWA team is responsible for leading complex pre-claim payment edits and post-claim payment recovery systems. This ensures that claims are paid accurately according to the latest policy guidelines
  • Collaboration:
    The team works closely with various partners, including Payment Integrity, Coding Analytics, and Claims partners, to enhance the accuracy of services billed and paid
  • Pre-Pay and Post-Pay Systems:
