Role Overview
Principal Specialist, Production Planner – Collins Aerospace’s fuel nozzle production team. Responsible for supply and demand planning, capacity management, and continuous improvement of production processes to support Materials Planning and SIOP goals. U.S.
-based role with U.S. Person requirement.
- Develop and maintain production plans for materials planning and SIOP.
- Develop standardized processes within materials planning and SIOP to optimize resource utilization and meet customer delivery expectations.
- Identify appropriate demand streams and establish data relationship linkages.
- Work with product development, sales, and marketing teams to develop demand forecasts.
- Plan capacity and fulfillment demand with plant manufacturing operations.
- Facilitate the capacity management process, identifying and escalating long‑term capacity gaps.
- Execute continuous management of the production plan, ensuring validation and providing long‑range OE and aftermarket demand visibility.
- Mitigate risks for short‑term shortages with internal suppliers to ensure customer delivery.
- Monitor transportation and delivery of inter‑/intraplant parts and outbound finished products.
- Track and manage inter‑/intraplant work‑in‑process, promise dating, and expedite orders to ensure on‑time delivery.
- Oversee the command center and drive part shortage resolution as needed.
- Perform escalated expediting to ensure on‑time material delivery.
- Help set up and create standard work for the additive production process.
- Work with development engineers to create work orders and other documents supporting new products.
- University degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (or advanced degree with 3 years of experience).
- At least 4 years of experience in Planning, Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP system.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of ACE/CORE and/or Lean Six Sigma encouraged.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- APICS or CPIM certification preferred.
- Self‑directed with strong planning and organization skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, persuasive to all levels.
Salary range: $86,800 – $165,200 USD. Compensation may be influenced by experience, education, and other factors.
