General FunctionThe Ron Pearson Center custodian performs a variety of cleaning activities designed to maintain the banquet facility to ensure an orderly, sanitary, safe and attractive condition. Work activities varies in nature and are subject to frequent interruptions and changes.

Positions that Report to you:

- Vacuums, dusts, mops (damp and wet) all areas daily and as needed; steam clean or shampoo and extract carpets on a regular and as needed basis per manufacture recommendations.
- Cleans and disinfects areas by washing furnishings, tile, fixtures and equipment with germicidal cleaning solutions; polishes sinks, tubs, drinking fountains, toilets, mirrors and similar apparatus; spot wash walls, light switches and telephones; wash or clean windows and doors; keep all debris in area picked up.
- Constantly provide a warm and friendly atmosphere to all employees and visitors in the Ron Pearson Center.
- Maintains supply inventory for designated areas, prepares supply requests and consumption or usage reports as directed.
- Constantly keeps informed of new products used, keeps updated on safety procedures such as OSHA laws, safety equipment, MSDS sheets, ladder safety, etc.; monitors and reports safety related problems.
- Frequently exercises judgment with regard to appropriate chemical supplies and equipment to use for completing daily tasks.
- Collects and removes trash inside and outside of work area. Keeps all trash containers properly lined and cleaned inside and out.
- Replenishes assigned areas with hand cleaner, paper towels, toilet tissue and other disposable items.
- Maintains janitorial equipment, tools and storage areas in a clean, orderly and safe usable state at all times.
- Fills out activity reports and maintenance work orders as required.
- Always presents oneself in a clean and professional manner.
- Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.

- Must possess the ability to copy data from one record to another; interview to obtain basic information; interpret written work instructions.
- Must be able to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions; deal with a few concrete variables.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred;
Minimum of one year experience as a custodian or equivalent experience.
- Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction.
- Must be physically able to lift 25-50 pounds frequently, and lift 51-100+ pounds occasionally; frequent pushing and pulling of 10-50 pounds, and 51-100+ pounds occasionally; frequent carrying of 10-25 pounds, and 26-50+ pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
The duties of this position are performed in a banquet facility setting. There is frequent pressure to meet deadlines. There is exposure to fumes, dirt, noise, vibrations, equipment movement hazards, and electric shock on a daily basis.
