The Account Representative is a full-time, on-site role based in West Des Moines, IA. This position manages day-to-day relationships with assigned accounts, ensuring timely responses to inquiries, proactive issue resolution, and consistent service delivery. Responsibilities include handling freight requests, coordinating shipments, monitoring tracking and status updates, and communicating with clients and carriers to maintain accurate information. The Account Representative will collaborate with internal teams to support logistics planning, prepare and update documentation, and ensure adherence to company standards and customer requirements.
The role also involves identifying opportunities to improve account performance, contributing to sales initiatives, and participating in training to stay current on systems, processes, and industry best practices.
- Candidates should possess strong Account Management skills, with the ability to build, maintain, and grow client and carrier relationships.
- Candidates should possess excellent Customer Service skills, including responsiveness, problem-solving, and a commitment to service quality.
- Candidates should possess clear Communication skills, both written and verbal, to coordinate effectively with clients, carriers, and internal teams.
- Candidates should possess Sales-related skills, such as identifying customer needs, supporting rate and service discussions, and contributing to business growth.
- Candidates should possess Training capabilities, including the ability to learn new systems quickly and help others adopt processes and tools.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include familiarity with logistics or transportation operations, proficiency with MS Office and web-based systems, strong organizational and time-management skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in business, logistics, or a related field is an asset.
