Mechanical Assembler I West Des MoinesIA Contract to Hire - 2nd Shift, 5/40
Hours:
3:30 PM - 12:00 AM CST Pay Rate: $20.90/Hr. Benefits: overtime, medical, dental, vision, 401k
Required Qualifications:
- Mechanical Assembler I Must be a U.S. Person due to federal regulations or contracting requirements.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work under immediate supervision and perform routine, repetitive tasks.
- Willingness to work overtime, extended shifts, nonstandard hours, and holiday hours as required.
- Mechanical Assembler I Entry-level manufacturing position responsible for disassembling and cleaning incoming product.
- Learns deburring and air grinding operations under direct supervision.
- Produces precision parts while working toward certification within 120 days.
- Follows established standard work and receives detailed instructions on assigned tasks.
- Mechanical Assembler I Learn to maintain and operate deburring tools.
- Learn to read blueprints and verify completed work.
- Complete production documentation and labor transactions accurately.
- Follow EHS, Quality, and Continuous Improvement standards and guidelines.
- Participate in continuous improvement and safety activities.
- Operate hand tools, electric tools, cutters, measuring equipment, and light equipment.
- Refer issues and deviations to lead technicians, supervisors, engineers, or more experienced operators.
- Work overtime, extended shifts, nonstandard hours, and some holidays as required by business needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Mechanical Assembler I Ability to learn to read and understand prints.
- Basic computer proficiency, including email, internet, and document printing.
- Basic shop math knowledge, including geometric tolerances.
- Basic problem identification and resolution skills.
- Ability to learn inspection tools and deburring tools used in the role.
- Ability to learn and understand deburring operations.
- Ability to learn position fundamentals within the first three months of employment.
- Effective communication skills with employees and management.
