Overview

Full‑time nights 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m., every third weekend and holiday rotation. Sign‑on bonus $20,000 for full‑time eligible RNs (including residents) hired or offered between April 1 and July 31, 2026, paid in milestone‑based installments. Relocation assistance: up to $10,000 for full‑time offers when relocating more than 50 miles.

• Provides and coordinates nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process.
• Completes documentation to assure an accurate record of patient care.
• Utilizes critical thinking in making independent judgments, maintaining responsibility for the knowledge of conditions of assigned patients.
• Collaborates with physicians and other professionals in planning and implementing care within hospital policy and legal limitations.
• Assesses needs of patients and families, provides appropriate teaching to facilitate discharge planning, and makes the necessary referrals to community agencies to provide continuity of care.
• Demonstrates professional development by keeping abreast of current nursing practice and healthcare trends.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or Iowa Association Board of Nursing approved nursing program.

• Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa.

• Minimum of twelve months acute RN experience.
• Newly licensed RNs or RNs with less than 12 months acute experience interested in this department or any other acute RN role within UnityPoint Health – Des Moines must participate in the RN Residency program (search for "Registered Nurse Residency").

• Level 3 Medium Work:
  Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
