Registered Nurse (RN) – Full-Time | $35–$38 per Hour

Schedule:

Monday‑Thursday 7AM‑4PM & Friday 8AM‑1PM

Central States Pain Clinic provides specialized interventional pain management services to patients throughout West Des Moines and Ankeny. Position Summary

We're seeking a Registered Nurse to support patients throughout various stages of procedural and surgical care. This role works closely with physicians and clinical staff to coordinate treatment, assess patient needs, monitor recovery, and promote safe, effective care delivery. Depending on clinic needs, responsibilities may include pre‑procedure preparation, intra‑procedural support, and post‑anesthesia recovery care.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Nursing Care & Patient Evaluation
  • Complete patient assessments and obtain detailed health histories.
  • Monitor vital signs and evaluate patient conditions before, during, and after treatment.
  • Recognize and report significant clinical changes or abnormal findings.
  • Develop, implement, and revise individualized care plans in collaboration with providers and patients.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately within the medical record.
  • Assess treatment effectiveness and adjust care approaches as appropriate.
Clinical Operations & Care Coordination
  • Deliver nursing care in accordance with established clinical standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with physicians, patients, family members, and healthcare team members to support treatment goals.
  • Maintain accountability for assigned patient care responsibilities.
  • Provide guidance to support staff and assist in maintaining efficient clinical workflows.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
  • Contribute to a safe, supportive, and patient‑focused care environment.
Procedural & Surgical Support
  • Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies for scheduled cases.
  • Assist providers during procedures by anticipating and supplying necessary instruments and materials.
  • Perform ongoing patient monitoring throughout procedural and recovery phases.
  • Evaluate patients for potential procedural risks and communicate concerns appropriately.
  • Follow infection prevention standards and patient safety protocols.
  • Record nursing interventions and patient responses within the electronic health record.
  • Operate a C‑Arm fluoroscope under physician supervision when assigned and appropriately trained.

Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) certification preferred
  • At least one year of OR and/or PACU nursing experience preferred
  • Familiarity with current nursing standards and applicable Nurse Practice Act requirements
  • Experience performing patient assessments and interpreting clinical data
  • Knowledge of sterile and scrub procedures
  • Understanding of surgical and procedural nursing practices
  • Ability to operate a C‑Arm fluoroscope under physician direction when required
