• Obtain information to assist provider and referral specialist with patient referrals; complete appropriate forms or requisitions required for referrals or lab testing.
• Assist in case management initiation and follow‑up.
• Accurately and promptly implement physicians’ orders.
• Function as a clinician, educator, and resource for patients within their specialty of care and assist providers with office procedures.
• Draw and collect blood and other samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Conduct pulmonary function testing, drug testing, vision testing, hearing testing, immunization delivery and spirometry testing.
• Properly use office and medical equipment such as: computer, spirometer, audiometer, fax machine, multi‑stage copiers and telephones.
• Practice reflects knowledge of CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, DOT and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding occupational medicine and healthcare.
• Maintain accurate and confidential employee medical records on computer and written as needed.
• Provide appropriate and timely documentation in the patient’s electronic health record using standardized workflows and processes.
• Demonstrates initiative to improve quality and customer service by striving to exceed customer expectations.
• Telephone triage by providing and documenting advice for home care of illness/condition; conducting follow‑up phone calls regarding patient’s health and progress as necessary.
• Collaborates with team to ensure adherence to multiple client protocols and services.
• Clinical setting may include area companies, including coordinating and scheduling of client services and screenings, as well as helping to assess client requests in collaboration with UPHaW leadership.
