GeneralPurpose of the Job
The Application Developer I (New Business Transformation) supports projects to enhance and modernize American Equity’s digital services, which serve our internal employees and external partners by providing tools to efficiently perform their roles. The role works with cross‑functional teams that help gather requirements, design and develop a New Business workflow platform using low‑code/no‑code solution to quickly move from legacy systems and ultimately deliver our internal customers an amazing solution.
This role provides valuable support to professional staff within organizational functions that align with their field of study and contribute to ongoing projects, gaining hands‑on experience in a structured, professional environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Gain experience in low code/no code technology.
- Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements that are translated into technical solutions.
- Assist in the design of user interactions.
- Collaborate across time zones via video conferencing and software such as MS Teams, Jira, and Git Hub.
- Complete project and support tasks with guidance from mentor and department leader.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Completed Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience or desire to learn about low code/no code technology.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external partners.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
- Learn quickly when faced with new challenges and situations; analyze success and failures.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge in the following areas would be a plus: usage of Postman, CSS design, creating documentation.
- Working knowledge of APIs.
- Experience in cloud infrastructure solutions (such as Mongo
DB, Data Dog) is a plus. - Good analytical skills with ability to research issues and products.
- Ability to work cooperatively and successfully with employees, customers, and other outside third parties.
