Project Engineer - Electrical Controls

Position: PROJECT ENGINEER - ELECTRICAL CONTROLS
Summary

Magnum Electric is seeking a Project Engineer to support electrical construction projects (including large-scale data centers). This role partners with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Foremen to keep projects organized, documented, and moving-covering submittals, RFIs, procurement tracking, change management support, and coordination.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Warehouse Management:

* Support PMs with day-to-day project administration and field coordination

* Manage and log RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and closeout documents

* Track materials/equipment procurement, lead times, and deliveries; coordinate with vendors

* Assist with change order documentation (scope, pricing support, backups)

* Maintain accurate project files: meeting minutes, transmittals, correspondence, logs

* Coordinate drawings/specs distribution; help ensure the field is working from current documents

* Assist with schedule updates, look-ahead planning, and progress reporting

* Participate in project meetings and communicate action items to stakeholders

* Support quality and safety documentation as required

General Requirements:

* 4+ years in electrical construction OR applicable degree/experience

* Strong organization, communication, and follow-through

* Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word); comfort with document control

* Able to read construction drawings and specifications (willing to learn if newer)

Preferred Requirements:

* Electrical construction experience (commercial/industrial/data center)

* Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, Autodesk/BIM, or similar platforms

* Basic understanding of estimating, takeoffs, or cost tracking
