Caterpillar currently has an opening for an Inspector I position supporting Reman Drivetrain located in the West Fargo, ND facility. The Inspector l performs inspections of materials and verifies process results to ensure conformance to specifications, requirements, and guidelines.
EducationHigh School diploma or equivalent preferred
Two-year tech school degree or equivalent experience preferred
Minimum one year experience in quality, inspection or machining preferred
Must possess ability to learn new tasks and able to read/write and interpret standard work instructions
Use precision measuring devices to effectively inspect parts
Operate machinery such as hand tools, air tools, and torque wrenches
Apply and correctly interpret reusability guidelines and determine disposition of materials
Able to operate pallet jacks and other moving equipment
Assist in identifying issues and initiating corrective action processes as necessary
Participate in the CI/PID Process
Actively listen and follow directions provided to you
Ability to work independently with support from Team Leads and Section Manager
Ability to understand labeling and flow of work in progress
Ability to understand and follow SWI’s and daily Production Schedules
Ability to adhere to facility policies to include good attendance and company values
Any duties or tasks that may be assigned to promote cross training or support for various areas of the shop

Follow established facility safety policies, safe job procedures and hazardous risk assessments and using the proper Personal Protective equipment for the specific job being performed
Work with variety of employees throughout the day to effectively communicate needs and to perform job related tasks
Proven ability to work in a team setting
Serve as a positive role model and contribute to team effort by supporting all employees in our organization
Ensure customer requirements are met
Conduct business with the highest level of honesty and integrity
Ability to Interface with plant management, supervisors and production personnel
Compensation & Benefits Offered!
Hourly Pay Range: $20.53 - $26.13 (salary negotiations to be offered based on skills/experience)
1st shift
Work Hours:
6:00AM- 4:30PMMonday - Thursday with occasional overtime on Fridays
40-hour work weeks with potential for overtime
80 hours of vacation with an additional 24 hours of paid Personal Time Off (PTO)
10 Paid holidays
