Industrial Painter - Night Shift

Job Title: Industrial Painter – Night Shift

Pay Range: $25–$31 per hour

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 4:00pm–2:30am (Overtime as required; occasional Fridays/Saturdays based on business needs)

Position Summary:

The Painter is responsible for applying high-quality coatings to production components using manual painting equipment. This position ensures that all finished products meet company and customer quality standards. Safety, cleanliness, efficiency, and attention to detail are essential. This is a multi-level position (Levels 1–3), with advancement based on skill proficiency, leadership, quality, and productivity.

Essential Job Functions:

• Demonstrate a commitment to quality, safety, and team collaboration

• Participate in team-based lean and continuous improvement activities to enhance workflows and support operational excellence

• Assist in staging and preparing components for painting

• Clean, scrub, prep, and mask surfaces as necessary

• Apply paint using a compressed air spray gun under supervision (Painter
  1); independently at higher levels

• Follow established paint application techniques and safety guidelines

• Conduct basic visual inspections for defects and quality; perform touch-ups and minor rework as directed

• Maintain clean equipment and organized work spaces

• Read and interpret order paperwork and production instructions

• Monitor environmental conditions in the paint area (humidity, temperature, etc.)

• Handle painting chemicals and materials safely, following all safety protocols

• Maintain prompt and dependable attendance

• Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualities:

• Willingness and ability to learn painting techniques

• Basic understanding of hand tools and spray equipment

• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship

• Effective communication and teamwork skills

• Motivation to produce quality work and contribute to team success

Education and

Work Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required

• 3–5 years of painting experience in a production or manufacturing facility is required

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift, carry, and handle materials as necessary

Additional Information:

• Night shift candidates must be able to start work and paint independently with no additional training

• While the current schedule may include some weekend hours, this is not typical for this shift

• Overtime may be required during peak seasons
