Weed Control Field Aide - Temporary

Cass County Weed Control is seeking a person to assist in the control of noxious and invasive weeds in Cass County. Our mission is to provide leadership and education in long‑term control of noxious/invasive weeds through cultural, biological, and chemical control strategies.

• Scout for and apply appropriate control methods to noxious and invasive weed sites.
• Control methods will include chemical, mechanical, and biological agents.
• Map noxious and invasive weed sites using GPS and computer mapping equipment.
• Perform data entry using Microsoft Excel and GPS mapping programs.
• Maintain spray equipment and perform other duties as assigned by the Weed Officer.

• High School Diploma; valid driver’s license.
• Ability to acquire Commercial Applicator Certification in Ag Pest Control and Right‑of‑Way categories.
• Able to lift and carry 50 lbs. and walk ½ mile through rough terrain, drive an ATV with sprayer, drive a truck pulling equipment trailer.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel, and GPS (Global Positioning Systems) equipment.
• Must be 18 years or older.

• College coursework or related field in noxious/invasive weeds, chemical and biological control methods.
• Experience with GPS mapping programs and map reading skills.

40 hours/week depending on the weather.
