West Fargo Flyers Swim Team – West Fargo, ND

The West Fargo Flyers are growing team with over 200 athletes. The Flyers, a volunteer parent board–run 501(c)(3) nonprofit swim team based in West Fargo, North Dakota, is seeking a positive, energetic, flexible, passionate, team-oriented, and self-motivated coach to lead our 12 & Under athletes
.

Our team trains year-round at the Hulbert Aquatic Center (50-meter pool, 10 lanes). The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of stroke mechanics, athlete development, and age-appropriate training techniques
, along with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with coaching staff, swimmers, and parents.

The West Fargo Flyers offer competitive compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications
, along with coverage and/or reimbursement for:

• Approved travel expenses for away meets
• Required and supplemental certifications
• Continuing education through coaching clinics or USA Swimming online learning programs

• Plan, write, and lead comprehensive seasonal and annual training plans incorporating water training, dryland, and educational components to prepare swimmers for the next level of competition.
• Provide age- and skill-appropriate instruction and feedback emphasizing individual growth, teamwork, and competitive technique, including stroke mechanics, starts, turns, and race skills.
• Create an engaging, positive training environment that promotes learning, effort, confidence, and enjoyment.
• Model professionalism, positivity, and sportsmanship while prioritizing athlete well-being.

• Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, and coaching staff in a collaborative and transparent manner.
• Assist with Pre-Senior, Senior, and other training groups as needed.
• Attend scheduled staff meetings and contribute to team planning.

• Complete meet administrative duties, including verifying and submitting meet entries in a timely manner.
• Maintain compliance with USA Swimming and Safe Sport policies and all team procedures.

• Preferred: 2+ years of USA Swimming or YMCA coaching experience with 12 & Under swimmers.
• Preferred: 1–2 years of experience with Team Unify, Team Manager, and/or Meet Manager software.
• Current USA Swimming coach credentials
  , or the ability to obtain them promptly.

• Strong knowledge of technique development, stroke mechanics, and training methodology
  .
• Positive, energetic on-deck presence demonstrating teamwork, reliability, and strong communication.
• Strong organizational skills and familiarity with Sports Engine
  .
• Availability to work afternoons, evenings, and approximately two weekends per month
  .
• U.S. citizenship or valid work authorization required.
