Role Overview

CLA is looking to hire Accounting Consultants (Engagement Directors) for its Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) unit. CAAS delivers customized accounting support to clients typically larger than $50M on interim and project basis. This role offers flexibility, variety, and work‑life balance.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a high‑level interim or project‑based accounting resource for clients across various industries on accounting, finance, tax, and audit roles (e.g., Interim Controller, Financial Reporting Manager, Internal Audit Manager).
  • Design and improve accounting processes such as monthly close, management and financial reporting, forecasting, consolidations, and system implementations.
  • Take an active and hands‑on approach in executing client engagements.
  • Travel as required; flexibility to travel expands opportunities.
  • Select engagements to align with career goals while maintaining work‑life balance.
  • Leverage experience within public accounting and for larger clients.
Qualifications
  • Ten years of relevant work experience, including public accounting.
  • Prior industry experience as a CFO, Controller, SEC reporting professional, or Internal Audit Manager preferred;
    Big Four alumni highly regarded.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel and familiarity with a variety of accounting software.
  • CPA certification preferred but not required.
  • Project management experience and excellent client‑service skills preferred.
