The College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions at the University of Hartford is seeking to fill a clinical/applied assistant professor position in Radiologic Technology ideally beginning January 1, 2027. The selected candidate will serve as the Program Director of the Radiologic Technology ( RAD ) Program in the Department of Health Sciences. Candidates are expected to contribute to the program’s mission, enhance the curricular offerings, and strengthen our academic and clinical quality.

The Radiologic Technology Program offers a four-year, baccalaureate-level academic and clinical curriculum that leads to a certificate in radiography and a B.S. degree in Radiologic Technology. Students have the opportunity to pursue advanced credentialing eligibility in computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging ( MRI ). Our program, faculty and students are committed to excellence in education, healthcare delivery and service to all individuals.

The RAD Program Director will be responsible for strategic planning, course planning and staffing, accreditation management, and assessment of student learning outcomes and measures of overall programmatic success. The successful applicant will ordinarily teach courses across the radiologic technology curriculum, which may change based on departmental needs. There may also be opportunities to teach our innovative general education and interdisciplinary courses.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate professional productivity as evidenced by sustained excellence and innovation in their clinical/applied practice, contributions to the profession through publications, presentations, or other publicly disseminated work, as well as service to academic, professional, or Hartford area communities. Service to the program, department, college, and university typically include advising students, contributing to student recruitment, and retention. The initial Clinical/Applied contract is 1-2 years and subsequent longer-term contracts are based on review of performance and the continuing need for the position.

• An earned master’s degree in the Radiologic Sciences, Education or related field
• Current ARRT certification and registration in radiography
• Current or ability to gain an active radiographer license in the State of Connecticut
• Minimum of three years’ professional experience
• Minimum of one year teaching experience in face-to-face, online, hybrid, or laboratory courses within a JRCERT
  -accredited Radiologic Sciences curriculum

• Graduate degree in Radiologic Sciences, Higher Education, Healthcare Administration, or another area relevant to health professions education or practice.
