You'll join a highly respected bridge engineering team delivering projects that improve how communities connect, travel, and grow. From major bridge replacements to complex rehabilitation programs, you'll play a key role in projects that have a lasting impact while benefiting from flexible hybrid working, excellent career development, and exposure to nationally recognized infrastructure programs.
What You'll Be Doing- Lead the structural design and delivery of bridge engineering projects from concept through final design.
- Design new bridges and rehabilitation solutions for existing transportation structures.
- Perform structural analysis, design calculations, and prepare construction documents.
- Complete bridge load rating analysis using AASHTOWare BrR.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary transportation teams throughout project delivery.
- Review shop drawings, engineering calculations, and technical submissions.
- Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and resolve construction issues.
- Respond to RFIs and provide technical support during construction.
- Mentor junior engineers and support their technical development.
- Assist with project planning, budgeting, scheduling, staffing, and quality management.
- Build strong relationships with clients and help ensure successful project delivery.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Connecticut.
- 5+ years of experience in bridge engineering or transportation structures.
- Strong background in bridge design
, rehabilitation, and structural analysis. - Experience with:
- STAAD
- SAP
2000 - CSI software
- AASHTOWare BrR
- AutoCAD
- Open Bridge Modeler
- Knowledge of:
- AASHTO
- AISC
- ASCE
- ACI
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred).
