The Financial Services Representative is a full-time, on-site role based in West Hartford, CT. This role is responsible for meeting with clients to understand their financial goals, analyzing their insurance, investment, retirement, and protection needs, and recommending suitable New York Life products and services. Daily activities include prospecting and building a network of clients, conducting financial needs assessments, preparing proposals, and maintaining ongoing relationships through regular reviews and follow-ups.
The representative collaborates with internal teams and uses company tools and training to stay informed about product offerings, industry trends, and regulatory requirements. This role also involves documenting client interactions, adhering to compliance standards, and participating in professional development and local community or networking events as needed.
- Strong client relationship management, interpersonal communication, and active listening skills.
- Ability to analyze financial needs, explain complex concepts clearly, and provide tailored insurance and investment solutions.
- Sales, prospecting, and negotiation abilities, with a focus on ethical, consultative service.
- Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple client accounts, follow-ups, and documentation accurately.
- Comfort working with financial software, CRM tools, and basic data analysis to support client recommendations.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Willingness to obtain and maintain applicable state insurance licenses and, where required, securities registrations.
- Demonstrated commitment to integrity, confidentiality, inclusion, and compliance with regulatory standards.
