We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Loan Coordinator / Mortgage Operations Specialist to join our growing mortgage team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring every loan file moves efficiently from application through processing. The ideal candidate is proactive, thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates well with borrowers and team members, and is committed to providing an exceptional client experience.

Work Location

This is an in-person position based in our Wallingford, Connecticut office. Candidates should be available to work Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and issue initial loan disclosures accurately and promptly.
  • Request and organize documentation from borrowers during the pre-underwriting process.
  • Submit TBD (To Be Determined) underwriting approvals when appropriate.
  • Coordinate with LOA1 regarding lead intake, file setup, and new loan review.
  • Submit complete loan files to the processing department.
  • Monitor and oversee the active loan pipeline to ensure milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Attend weekly pipeline meetings every Tuesday and Thursday to provide file updates and identify potential issues.
  • Occasionally assist with pre-qualifying and pre-approving home buyers.
  • Maintain accurate loan records and ensure compliance with company and investor guidelines.
  • Provide administrative support to the mortgage team as needed.
  • Assist with special projects and operational initiatives to improve workflow and efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Previous mortgage, banking, or real estate industry experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple files and priorities simultaneously.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and mortgage loan origination systems (experience with Encompass is a plus).
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
  • Professional, dependable, and customer-service oriented.
