Microsoft Purview​/Defender AI Security Consultant

Overview

Our client is seeking a hands-on Microsoft Purview / Defender consultant to support the implementation of AI security and governance controls. This individual will review existing security baselines, implement policies and controls, and recommend improvements based on prior implementation experience. This is an implementation-focused role, not a strategy ownership position.

• Review and assess existing Microsoft Purview and Defender security baselines.
• Implement AI security and governance controls within the Microsoft ecosystem.
• Update and modify security policies as needed.
• Recommend improvements to existing governance frameworks, policies, and configurations.
• Understand and communicate the client's AI governance strategy while executing against established standards.
• Support implementation of AI security initiatives using the client's existing governance roadmap and policy framework.

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender.
• Experience implementing Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies and controls.
• Experience reviewing and implementing Microsoft security baselines and policies.
• Strong implementation background within Microsoft security technologies.
• Ability to work within an existing AI governance framework and execute against defined standards.

• Experience supporting AI security or AI governance initiatives.
• Experience making recommendations to improve governance frameworks, security policies, or technical implementations.
• Familiarity with AI use policies or governance roadmaps.

• A hands-on implementer rather than a strategy-focused consultant.
• Someone comfortable executing within an established governance framework while bringing practical implementation recommendations from prior experience.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to understand and articulate the client's AI strategy without being responsible for creating it.
