JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing highlydiversified duties to install, repair and maintain propertystructures, minor plumbing repair, and minor electrical work in addition to performing grounds maintenance. They will also support The Village by providing courier and office support services and assistance with setting up agency events. They will work closely withother members of their team and will interact with staff at The Village to address their maintenance needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs grounds checks daily, proactively deal with issues andsafety concerns.
- Conducts monthly and other periodic inspections of all facilities and vehicles.
- Monitors all buildings for fire/safety code compliance.
- Spot checks for ice/snow removal during winter months in parking lots and sidewalks.
- Sets up/breaks down rooms as required for meetings.
- Moves and assembles furniture.
- Coordinates with vendors for agency inspections.
- Escorts and directs visiting contractors and vendors.
- Must be available for on-call coverage after hours and weekends on rotation.
- Checks electronic/phone messages daily for repair requests.
- Performs specially designated grounds projects.
- Ensures that the cleaning company has supplies needed on a weekly basis.
- Interacts daily with situations normal to residential program settings.
- Provides courier services including sorting, pick-up and delivery of agency mail.
- Shuttles vehicles for inspection and service.
EDUCATION
- High school diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE
- Must have valid CT driver’s license, safe driving record andaccess to personal transportation.
- Two years’ experience in an affiliated construction trade or property maintenance.
- Ability to work in a vigorously paced setting as a team member.
- Must be proactive, enthusiastic, patient, flexible, and able tohandle crisis situations in a calm manner.
- Physically able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations, and ability tolift and carry packages weighing up to 50 pounds.
