New England Grace Presbyterian Church (NEGPC) is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) located in West Hartford, Connecticut.
We are committed to being a Christ-centered, Gospel-driven, multi-generational, and multi-lingual church that seeks to glorify God by making disciples of Jesus Christ
Our church consists of two congregations (Korean-speaking and English-speaking) that worship together as one covenant community while ministering in their respective languages. We are seeking shepherd who embraces Reformed theology, loves God's people, and is passionate about preaching God's word, making disciples, and equipping the saints for the work of ministry.
About Grace Fellowship (English Ministry):Grace Fellowship is the English-speaking congregation of NEGPC. Our ministry includes college students, young adults, and families. We desire to cultivate a Gospel-centered community where people of every generation grow in their love for Christ, His Church, and His mission.
The English Ministry Pastor will serve as the primary shepherd of Grace Fellowship while working closely with the Session and pastoral staff to advance the overall mission and vision of the church.
Description of the Position:Spiritual Leadership & Vision
- Provide spiritual leadership by helping cultivate a gospel-centered vision for the English Ministry in partnership with the Session.
- Lead the ministry in a way that promotes spiritual growth and faithful discipleship.
- Promote Gospel unity between the Korean-speaking and English-speaking congregations while encouraging a shared identity as one church.
- Faithfully preach and teach God's Word through expository, Christ-centered preaching that is rooted in Scripture and consistent with Reformed theology.
- Administer the ordinary means of grace in accordance with PCA doctrine and practice.
- Teach Bible studies, membership classes, and other educational opportunities that strengthen biblical literacy and theological understanding.
- Equip members to think biblically and faithfully apply the Gospel to every area of life.
- Shepherd the congregation through intentional pastoral care, prayer, counseling, visitation, and discipleship.
- Encourage meaningful relationships and foster a culture of mutual care, hospitality, and accountability within the congregation.
- Develop pathways for spiritual growth that help members mature as disciples of Jesus Christ.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and oversee ministry leaders, teachers, and volunteers.
- Equip members to discover and faithfully use their spiritual gifts for the building up of the church.
- Provide pastoral oversight for the educational ministries of the English Ministry, including children, youth, college, and adult discipleship, as applicable.
- Develop a biblically grounded, gospel-centered discipleship strategy rooted in Reformed theology while fostering continuity and collaboration across all stages of Christian growth.
- Provide leadership in planning worship services, ministry events, and the annual ministry calendar.
- Collaborate with the Session, church staff, and ministry leaders to develop ministry goals, steward ministry resources faithfully, and promote effective communication and coordination across the English and Korean Ministries.
- Encourage members to engage in personal evangelism and Gospel witness within their communities.
- Develop opportunities for local outreach and global missions in partnership with the broader church.
- Cultivate a welcoming environment for visitors, seekers, and new members.
- A growing and vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ characterized by godly character and spiritual maturity
- Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from an accredited theological seminary
- Ordained in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), or willing to pursue ordination within the PCA
- Strong commitment to the Westminster Standards and historic Reformed theology
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Experience serving in a multicultural or Korean American church context is preferred but not required
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Korean is preferred but not required
Full-Time
- Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 (commensurate with experience and qualifications)
