This is a specialized inpatient psychiatric hospital in West Hartford providing acute behavioral health treatment to adults age 50 and older. The clinical model combines psychiatric and medical care for an older population whose needs often involve far more complexity than prescribing medication and scheduling another follow-up. The broader behavioral health organization has been serving Connecticut for nearly three decades and works across hospitals, outpatient practices, nursing homes, assisted living communities, and other behavioral health settings.

This weekend opening is intentionally focused: see patients in the facility, coordinate their psychiatric care, and complete the remaining documentation from home. Because clinical notes do not become more insightful simply because you finish them under hospital fluorescent lights.

• Earn $600 per day
• Weekend-only schedule that can supplement a weekday position, private practice, or other clinical work
• Approximately $1,200 per full weekend when working both scheduled days
• Typically only about 4 hours onsite each day

• Provide weekend psychiatric coverage for hospitalized adults age 50 and older
• Complete psychiatric follow-up assessments and evaluate changes in patient condition
• Manage psychiatric medications and adjust treatment plans when clinically appropriate
• Collaborate with the hospital’s physicians, nursing team, social workers, and other clinical disciplines
• Address urgent behavioral health concerns that arise during weekend coverage
• Complete required clinical documentation from home after leaving the facility

• Active Connecticut APRN license and PMHNP certification required
• Prior inpatient psychiatric hospital experience is required; outpatient-only experience cannot be considered
• Geriatric psychiatric experience is strongly preferred
• Candidates must be trained and certified as PMHNPs; FNPs and AGPCNPs without psychiatric certification cannot be considered
