The Opportunity
We are seeking a General Manager of Design and Fabrication to lead Eco Cuts as we look to expand existing fabrication capabilities, develop new products, and build a high-performing team focused on driving excellence through every aspect of the business. The General Manager of Design and Fabrication is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced millwork professional looking to influence strategy, shape processes, and help define the long-term direction of a growing fabrication business.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the Eco Cuts fabrication division, ensuring projects are estimated, designed, produced and delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Build, develop and manage a high-performing fabrication team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, craftsmanship, continuous improvement and workplace satisfaction.
- Produce job quotes for all incoming projects (including but not limited to labor, material takeoffs, crating, and shipping costs).
- Receive and manage incoming telephone and email inquiries re: potential jobs, technical
- questions, RFQs.
- Work with architects and clients as a subject matter expert to work through design and constructability questions.
- Work with the Operations Manager to manage production planning, scheduling, inventory, and equipment maintenance
- Develop and strengthen relationships with architects, designers, builders, manufacturers, homeowners, and strategic partners to help grow the business.
- Identify opportunities to improve operations, expand fabrication capabilities, develop proprietary products, and drive business growth.
- Manage the division's financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, job profitability, and operational reporting.
- Champion workplace safety, quality standards, and operational excellence across every aspect of the business.
What You'll Bring
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in woodworking, CNC operations and
- programming and the operation of common millworking tools and equipment
- Experience developing, leading and managing high-performing teams within a custom furniture fabrication, millwork, woodworking or related environment
- Hands on expertise in millworking techniques
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings and technical documents
- Exceptional cost control and budgeting skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and delegate when necessary
- Passion for working closely with customers to achieve exceptional rates of customer satisfaction
- Desire and creativity to design and bring to market lines of custom products using sustainable building materials
- Eagerness to learn and develop new skills
- OSHA 10 certification / Forklift certification, or willingness to become certified.
The ideal candidate will have experience with—or the ability to quickly learn—the business processes and technology platforms that support a modern fabrication operation. Experience with Hub Spot, Quick Books, Excel, or similar platforms is preferred but not required.
