The Director of the Accessibility Resources Center leads the Accessibility Resources Center by setting strategy, ensuring legal compliance, and overseeing student accommodation services. Supervise and develop staff, manage complex cases, and ensure timely, equitable support. Collaborate across campus to advance accessibility and inclusive practices, deliver training, and promote universal design. Oversee assistive technology and digital accessibility efforts, and manage the AIM system for accommodations, documentation, and testing coordination.
Youwill Leadership & Strategic Direction
- Provide leadership and direction for the Accessibility Resources Center, including program development and service delivery.
- Develop and implement strategic goals aligned with institutional priorities for diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success.
- Lead campus initiatives promoting accessibility, universal design, and inclusive practices.
- Serve as the institution’s subject matter expert on disability-related policies and practices.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations (e.g., ADA, Section 504, FERPA).
- Develop, interpret, and enforce institutional policies related to disability services and accommodations.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting systems in compliance with legal requirements.
- Oversee the intake, evaluation, and determination of reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities.
- Provide guidance on complex or high-impact accommodation cases.
- Ensure timely and equitable delivery services such as testing accommodations, assistive technology, note-taking, and alternative formats.
- Oversee exam proctoring service, alternative text production, assistive technology training, and procurement of auxiliary aides and services.
- Hire and train department support staff, graduate learning assistants, proctors and front desk staff
- Recruit, supervise, and evaluate professional and support staff.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
- Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for staff.
- Partner with faculty, academic affairs, and student affairs departments to implement accessible practices.
- Deliver training and workshops to faculty and staff on accommodations, accessibility, and inclusive pedagogy.
- Collaborate with IT, facilities, and academic leadership to improve physical and digital accessibility.
- Oversee implementation and utilization of assistive technologies and accessibility tools.
- Collaborate with IT to ensure compliance with digital accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG).
- Lead efforts to integrate accessibility into online learning environments and campus systems.
- Graduate degree in higher education, counseling, rehabilitation, disability studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in disability services or accessibility in higher education.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ADA, Section 504, and related laws and regulations.
- Experience supervising staff and managing programs or departments.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
