The West Haven facility is 105,000 square feet, was fully remodeled in , operates clean‑room environments, and runs nothing like a traditional manufacturing floor. Approximately 100 employees work on site.
Responsibilities- Provide strategic and technical direction for all manufacturing systems and processes at the West Haven facility
- Manage and develop a team of six engineers — process, project, and packaging — through mentoring, resource planning, and prioritization
- Lead capital planning and own capital improvement projects, including capex, period expense, and depreciation oversight
- Troubleshoot batch process deviations daily using structured root cause analysis to meet increasingly demanding customer specifications
- Drive programs that improve first‑pass yield, reduce scrap and waste, and eliminate chronic manufacturing problems
- Implement FMEA and control plans across product families; manage SPC reviews and reduce process variation
- Define and execute a continuous improvement roadmap covering capability, yield, capacity, and cost efficiency
- Leverage automation, advanced analytics, and digital tools to improve OEE and process capability
- Support new product development, process scale‑up, and direct customer interactions aligned with semiconductor industry requirements
- Lead cross‑functional initiatives with Operations, Maintenance, EHS, and Quality
- BS in Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline
- Background in chemical manufacturing or semiconductor/electronics materials — these are the two industries this team has confirmed translate; others will not be considered
- 7+ years in process engineering, capital project management, or facility management in an industrial environment (flexible for candidates with a strong, documented continuous improvement track record)
- 5+ years leading and developing engineering teams
- Demonstrated CI mindset — you have driven it, not you are working toward it
- Proactive communicator who speaks up, challenges direction constructively, and de‑escalates conflict
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Direct semiconductor or wafer‑level packaging industry experience
- SPC, FMEA, and advanced analytics tools experience
- Capital project management at the $1M+ scale
- Experience with automation and OEE optimization
- Batch chemical manufacturing background
- Advanced degree (MS or MBA)
