Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineer
A long-established global leader in advanced electronic materials is expanding an existing plant, reclaiming space inside the facility to stand up a new high-volume production line built to add roughly 50% more throughput. You come in early, during design and commissioning, partnering with the site technical lead and the project team to bring the line online, then own the process engineering that keeps its critical processes capable and improving.
This is a build-it-from-the-ground-up seat, not a slot in a fixed org.
- You are a hands‑on senior engineer who leads from the floor, not from a deck of slides.
- You have owned production chemistry end to end and can carry a critical process by yourself.
- You work safely and confidently around flammable and corrosive chemicals and treat process safety as non‑negotiable.
- You like the ambiguity of a new line and the pace of a fast‑scaling site.
- Honest note: if you want a mature plant with every process already optimized, or you would rather advise than do, this is not your role.
- Own Statistical Process Control (SPC) strategy and execution for the line's most critical processes.
- Lead root‑cause investigations and corrective and preventive actions on product failures and nonconformances, and drive them to closure.
- Manage Nonconforming Material Reports (NCMRs) and minimize repeat occurrences.
- Drive first‑pass yield, cycle‑time, and cost improvements through disciplined process engineering and design of experiments.
- Partner on equipment specification, installation, and commissioning as the new line is built, then mentor junior engineers as the team grows.
- B.S. in Chemical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline (required).
- Several years of process engineering experience in chemical, specialty‑materials, pharmaceutical, coatings and inks, battery, plating, or semiconductor wet‑chemical production, with a track record of owning critical processes.
- Direct experience in an OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) covered process running flammable and/or corrosive chemicals.
- Depth in SPC, root‑cause methodology, design of experiments, and yield and cost improvement.
- Authorized to work in the United States. This role does not offer visa sponsorship.
Own the process engineering on a major capacity build‑out from day one, make materials that feed sophisticated semiconductor and advanced‑electronics customers, and step into a function being built from scratch with room to lead. On-site in West Haven, CT. Base salary $109,341 to $150,000
