- Develop and implement welding procedures, techniques, and process improvements for complex metal fabrications, including pre‑and post‑heating expertise.
- Support production by troubleshooting weld quality issues and ensuring compliance with industry codes and standards.
- Design and construct welding fixtures needed for efficient, sustainable manufacturing processes.
- Spearhead weld inspections, testing, and certification requirements to ensure quality and compliance.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally on new product development and finding supplier / vendor partnerships for welding materials and components.
- Bachelor’s degree in Welding, Materials Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, along with 3 or more years of hands‑on welding experience. Consideration will also be given to non‑degreed candidates with 10+ years of hands‑on welding experience, along with metals / metal alloys in a commercial manufacturing plant.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes, applications using stainless steel and metals / metal alloys, and relevant codes, standards, quality issues, and industry best practices.
- Candidates must have weld inspection certification (Level II Visual Inspector or equivalent) and experience with quality systems (ISO 9000 or similar). American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Engineer (CWEng) is desirable but not required.
- Proficiency with Solid Works, AutoCAD, and standard Microsoft Office tools is required.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively to influence and implement desired improvements in a production environment.
