Job Summary

The Private Client Advisor will focus on our Mass Affluent client base with a planning and financial wellness methodology. The advisor will be the primary provider of investment services to Key Bank Mass Affluent clients, offering investment solutions to new and existing clients while identifying full relationship opportunities. The advisor will establish strong partnerships with Retail Branch Managers, teams, and Centers of Influence and maintain strong working relationships with all partners.

Essential Functions
  • Grow new clients and expand existing relationships with clients having more than $50,000 in investable assets, targeting a consistent sales process for clients with investable assets between $250,000 to $2 Million.
  • Host holistic Financial Wellness conversations and complete comprehensive financial plans to uncover full household and relationship growth opportunities.
  • Use a consultative sales process and assessment tools to provide needs‑based financial solutions, partnering with banking center staff.
  • Attain sales production and referral goals to the Bank by working the book of business, lead lists, and closing on received referrals.
  • Develop a complete understanding of Key Investment Services solutions to support cross‑selling and learn core bank products to generate quality referrals to the Consumer Bank.
  • Actively participate as a member of the Branch team, engaging with licensed and non‑licensed personnel to identify referral opportunities from new and existing clients.
  • Coordinate all aspects of investment product delivery within assigned branches, including coaching and mentoring branch personnel, client management, and service delivery.
  • Develop a Center of Influence strategy leveraging partnerships throughout the Consumer Bank.
  • Perform other duties as assigned; responsibilities may change without notice.
  • Comply with all Key Bank policies and procedures, acting professionally and ethically and avoiding conflicts of interest.
Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
  • FINRA SIE upon hire (required)
  • FINRA S7 upon hire (required)
  • FINRA S66 or S63 and 65 upon hire (required)
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) (preferred)
  • Resident State Insurance Licenses (Life, Variable, and Accident/Health or Life & Disability) (required)
Skills
  • Broad knowledge of characteristics and needs of clients and partners within the bank‑based investment market.
  • Demonstrated ability to sell products and services to investment clients with strong sales results.
  • Strong client‑centric focus.
  • Collaborative team member.
  • Proficient with standard office equipment and proprietary financial systems.

Physical Demands
  • General office: prolonged sitting, face‑to‑face communication, frequent PC usage, occasional lifting of items up to 10 lbs.
Travel
  • Occasional travel including overnight stays.
Driving Requirements
  • May need to drive to multiple locations within a single day; valid driver’s license required.
Compensation and Benefits

This position is eligible to earn commission and deferred incentive compensation.
