Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant PRN opportunity!!

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team at the West Haven Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in West Haven, Connecticut. As a vital member of our rehabilitation team, you will work closely with our licensed occupational therapists to deliver high-quality care to our patients. Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist licensed occupational therapists in the development and implementation of patient treatment plans, focusing on activities of daily living, cognitive, and sensory processing skills
  • Use adaptive equipment and other assistive technologies to promote patient independence and safety
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and coordinate patient transfers
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient progress and treatment plans
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) program
  • Current certification as a COTA, with a strong understanding of occupational therapy principles and practices
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing patient needs and tasks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Strong observational and assessment skills, with a focus on patient safety and well-being
