Operations Manager (Fluid Bed & Blending)
The Operations Manager will assist the Site Director in managing, supervising, and directing all aspects of production operations for designated lines of business. This role involves hands‑on leadership on the production floor, continuous improvement, quality compliance, and cross‑department collaboration.
Key Responsibilities- Promote a behavior‑based safety culture with a goal of creating a zero‑risk workplace.
- Maintain high quality standards and zero error tolerance by adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Identify opportunities and promote continuous improvement to drive a zero‑loss environment.
- Spend 90% of work time on the floor in a hands‑on managerial position.
- Improve quality using root‑cause analysis of non‑conformities and implement corrective action plans, including machine and processing training.
- Collaborate with all departments to achieve the company’s goals, considering efficiency and productivity.
- Report departmental goals and objectives in alignment with the company’s long‑ and short‑term plans.
- Assist in meeting departmental efficiency and quality goals.
- Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures, including attendance, safety, cGMPs, and SOPs.
- Participate in daily production schedule meetings to ensure customer delivery requirements are met.
- Follow the daily production schedule and immediately communicate issues to management.
- Promote growth and development of supervisors, assistant supervisors, and machine operators through hands‑on training.
- Work with supervisors to meet customers’ timing, quality, and cost requirements.
- Implement standard operational practices and observe workers to ensure compliance.
- Perform supervisory duties: interviewing, hiring, terminating, training, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, etc.
- Successfully implement new policies and procedures.
- Meet manufacturing goals and project deadlines while maintaining compliance with cGMPs, FDA, and other regulations.
- Provide information for customers and government agency audits and inspections.
- Assist in revising, reviewing, and maintaining SOPs.
- Develop, train, and lead an effective supervisory team.
- Collaborate with other departments to expedite or resolve problems and meet delivery dates.
- Provide input for process specifications, batch records, and other quality‑related documents.
- Bachelor’s degree in physical sciences, mathematics, chemical, mechanical or process engineering; or a minimum of seven years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three years of hands‑on people management experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
- Preferred experience in food, supplement, pharmaceutical, high‑speed packaging or related FDA‑regulated industry.
