The Quality Control (QC) Chemist is responsible for performing analytical testing and inspection of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure compliance with internal specifications and customer requirements. This role supports a range of chemical and materials-based products, requiring flexibility across diverse testing methods and the ability to operate in a fast‑paced laboratory environment.
What will you be doing?- Perform a comprehensive range of laboratory tests, including dimensional and physical inspections; thermal, environmental, and electrical testing; chemical compositional, impurity, ionic, solution‑based, and spectroscopic analyses; and evaluation of optical, surface, viscosity, and flow properties to verify material performance and compliance.
- Execute test methods in accordance with SOPs, work instructions, and customer‑specific requirements.
- Accurately record, calculate, and report results in laboratory systems.
- Ensure all data is complete, accurate, and compliant with quality standards.
- Document results in LIMS, logbooks, and electronic systems in real‑time.
- Identify and escalated out‑of‑specification (OOS) or abnormal results.
- Support investigations, retesting, and root cause analysis as needed.
- Support daily lab workflow to meet turnaround time (TAT) expectations.
- Prepare samples, reagents, and standards for testing.
- Follow standardized workflows to ensure consistency and repeatability.
- Operate laboratory equipment in accordance with established procedures.
- Perform routine checks, calibrations, and verifications.
- Identify equipment issues and escalated for maintenance or repair.
- Support coordination of internal or external calibration activities.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field preferred.
- Relevant laboratory experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- 1–3 years of laboratory or QC experience preferred.
- Experience with chemical, physical, and materials testing methods.
- Experience working in a regulated or quality‑driven environment (ISO, IATF, GMP) is a plus.
- Familiarity with analytical testing methods and laboratory best practices.
- Basic understanding of calibration, measurement systems, and data analysis.
- Experience with LIMS or data systems preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic calculations.
