The Middlesex Corporation is seeking an experienced Carpenter for heavy civil construction projects including highways, bridges, rail, and marine work. Responsibilities include layout, building and setting concrete forms, installing framework and structures, reading plans, and working safely around heavy equipment. The Carpenter will support construction of transportation and infrastructure projects, ensure quality workmanship, follow strict safety standards, and collaborate with crews and supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Perform layout and build, set, and strip concrete and structural formwork for heavy civil projects
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan carpentry work
  • Install and align framework, foundations, and structural components to required tolerances
  • Safely operate carpentry hand and power tools, and work around heavy equipment and cranes
  • Follow all company and OSHA safety procedures, including use of PPE and participation in safety meetings
  • Work collaboratively with foremen, engineers, and crew members to meet schedule and quality standards
  • Assist with concrete placement, finishing, and related structural work for bridges, highways, and marine projects
  • Inspect completed work for quality, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean, safe condition
  • Participate in training and development to expand skills and support long-term career growth
