Motor Vehicle Operator - Laundry Truck Driver

The employee is responsible for picking up and delivering clean and soiled laundry throughout the Medical Center. This position is located in West Haven, Connecticut.

Requires the ability to perform the duties of a Motor Vehicle Operator - Laundry Truck Driver without more than normal supervision. Related experience includes operating gas-powered vehicles such as vans or trucks to deliver items to and from a facility; loading and unloading items from the delivery vehicle; and following instructions/directions. A Selective Placement Factor (SPF) has been identified for this position. Selective Placement Factors (SPF) are a prerequisite to appointment and represent minimum requirements for the position. Applicants who do not meet the SPF are ineligible for further consideration.

Employee must possess a current, valid state drivers license (Please DO NOT submit a copy of driver's license. We cannot accept pictures. Licenses will be verified during interview.)

Employee must be free of physical handicaps that would adversely affect his/her ability to operate assigned equipment in a safe and proper manner. Incumbent must constantly stand walk, turn, bend, lift, etc. in the performance of assigned duties. Employee must be able to push and pull heavy cargos on and off the vehicles.

Employee is required to work outside in all types of weather- and weather-related condition. Employee must drive, operate equipment, and move cargo in extreme weather conditions such as cold, heat, rain, snow, ice, etc. The incumbent is exposed to possible bumps, bruises and other injury from vehicles and equipment.
