Job Description
Family owned Real Estate Developer for single and multi‑family homes has an immediate opening for a Construction Bookkeeper. This is a full‑time, on‑site role located in W Hollywood/Melrose, LA, CA. The Accounting Bookkeeper will maintain construction budgets and records, prepare bi‑weekly documents for the bank, and manage bookkeeping tasks related to vendors, accounts payable and accounts receivable. The role also involves using Quick Books DESKTOP, recording journal entries, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulations.
Qualifications- Assist the Senior Accounting Manager and Project Operations Manager
- Excellent knowledge of Quick Books Desktop and finance management
- Accurate recording of journal entries, accounts payable, payroll reviews, and vendor‑related items
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- High level of organization, multitasking ability, and attention to detail and accuracy
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience in the commercial construction industry is required; landscaping industry experience is not acceptable. Experience with construction billing, retention, and conditional waivers is essential.

- Assist with the development and management of project budgets.
- Monitor project costs, including labor, materials, and other expenses.
- Process invoices, track payments, and resolve invoice‑related issues.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and other financial accounts.
- Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, and other reports to track the company’s financial performance.
- Ensure accurate and timely tax filings, including sales tax and other relevant taxes.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date financial records.
- Work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and other team members to ensure accurate financial information.
- Prior experience in bookkeeping, especially within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Quick Books.
- Understanding of construction‑specific accounting principles and practices.
