We are currently offering a $10,000 sign-on bonus to newly hired Radiation Therapists!
What you will be doing in this role:Under the supervision of the Chief Radiation Therapist and the professional direction of a Radiation Oncologist, the Radiation Therapist is expected to administer radiation treatments to cancer patients, verify treatment plans, maintain quality checklists, document treatments, perform daily and weekly linear accelerator QA, portal images, and CBCT, coordinate and schedule patients in Mosaiq, notify appropriate personnel of EPIC scheduling changes, follow physician prescriptions, verify mathematical accuracy of treatment prescriptions, detect equipment malfunctions, troubleshoot and report issues, demonstrate appropriate medical knowledge when caring for patients with urgent/emergent needs, manage time effectively, and proactively assist team members to meet teamwork goals.
- Accurate setup and treatment of patients as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist
- Utilize imaging technologies for simulation, treatment planning, and treatment delivery as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist
- Operate linear accelerator, including proper patient positioning and monitoring during procedure
- Perform special treatment procedures such as Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), Stereotactic Radiation Therapy (SRT), Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT), and Brachytherapy
- Perform weekly portal images and daily CBCT, KV, Vision
RT prior to delivering treatment - Accurately complete and chart all simulation and treatment summaries, reports, and documentation, along with photographs of setup and tattooing of patient as required
- Appropriate and timely documentation of treatments
- Patient management and education
- Document daily pain assessment
- Verify correct side/site, patient name, DOB prior to treatment
- Proactively assist other team members to meet teamwork goals
- Assist with The Joint Commission readiness within the department
- Ensure medical equipment is maintained and functioning properly, including daily warm-up procedures and quality assurance
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Graduate of an ARRT approved Radiation Therapy Program required.
Bachelor’s Degree in an ARRT approved Radiation Therapy Program preferred.
Experience:A minimum of 3 years' technical experience as a Radiation Therapist preferred.
License / Certification / Registration:California Therapeutic Radiation Technologist Certification required.
American Registry of Radiologic Technology Certification required.
Basic Life Support Certification required.
